It was a beautiful winter evening, cool and no rain. The party went off flawlessly, right on time thanks to the assiduous pre-planning of our Crab Feed Chairperson Vicky Boatwright and the Crab Feed Committee, which just about included everyone in the Club.

Great prizes were offered, 29 of them (assembled by David Thorman) in which the Fire Ring and the $2,000 Diamond Ring from Sharif Jewelers stand out. We had many community sponsors, who were much appreciated and a great colorful brochure which Bill Donnoe put together.

The Sundance Kid was the MC, auctioneer, as well as the disc jockey and provided wonderful entertainment for the evening. Dancing was enjoyed until well after 9 p.m. and we would be remiss if I didn’t mention the great job the cooking crew accomplished under the command of our own Master Chef Jeff Thompson.

The sellout crowd of 350 people had ample time for the imbibing of drinks from the well-stocked bar, thanks to Walter Malhoski, and to peruse the silent auction prizes as well as 23 sumptuous desserts put on 3 round tables by Phil Danz & Jane Lampard (all were sold).

We were fortunate enough to have our event supported by 9 members of the Passport Club, and 10 from the Rancho Cordova Rotary Club as well as the Jesuit High School baseball team to serve the four-course meal of soup, salad, pasta and majoring in Crab & Shrimp (all you can eat!).

This was our major fund raiser for the year and we anxiously look forward to finding out how much money was made. Money to fund our Foundation and its many charities.
