It was only the 2nd “in person” event of the Club since last March when COVID-19 restrictions were proclaimed. Our objective was to arrange, assemble and deliver to the San Juan School District Headquarters, 75 apple boxes laden with various types of foods, such as pasta, soups, many snacks, packaged dinners such as mac and cheese, vegetables and canned fruit. These food items were destined to go to needy families in the San Juan District area. We met at the Water Tower warehouse in Carmichael and after about 1 & ½ to 2 hours we finished the packing and loaded them in the back storage areas of numerous SUVs and drove and delivered them to the San Juan District Headquarters at 3738 Walnut Ave. Rich Plath smoothly orchestrated all of the some 17 volunteers which participated in the project. So again we accomplished our Christmas/Holiday project which, for the Carmichael Rotary Club goes back (every year without fail) since the 1960s and before. Kudos to our Club!
