Delicious Crab, Soup, Salad and Pasta!
February 25th, 2023 is a date that will be joyfully remembered for years to come in the annals of exceptional events because the Carmichael Rotary Club reasserted it's reputation for providing one of the World's Best Crab Feed Fundraisers. Delicious Crab, Salad, Soup, and Pasta was cooked by our excellent Chefs (Jeff Thompson, Tony Marquess and crew).
After two+ years of dormancy, over 300 people attended. In the photo above (standing right side above), there is the "Sundance Kid" who provided his great music and dancing along with handling the live auction and other MC duties.
The Jesuit High School Baseball team served the dinners with efficiency and politeness. The Passport Club had 3 or 4 of it's members there. It was "all hands on deck" with the running of the bar, taking in money, running the silent auctions. The dessert auction was especially lively with delicious donated cakes that mostly sold for the highest bidding price!  For more photos of this special event "click" on Read More below....

Planter Boxes for 2nd Grade
On a brisk sunny morning in February, Jay B., Vicky, Frank & George spent a few hours helping Carmichael Elementary 2nd grade teacher Angela Nicholas assemble and fill 6 planter boxes for her class.  She hopes to have her students (and maybe other grades) get a garden started soon to teach the children about growing vegetables.  The planters and soil were given to her by Soil Born Farms.  She is hoping to get some benches and pots also donated to beautify the area, make it a peaceful retreat for students, and have more planting containers for additional plants/flowers.  We were happy to help with this small project for our adopted Carmichael Elementary school! During the incumbency of  President David Thorman,(2013-14) it was decided that instead of giving a particular gift, ie coffee mug, pen etc. to honor our guest speaker each week, we would simply donate a book to the Carmichael Library. So below are many of the books that we have donated in honor of recent speakers.
It is the "gift that keeps of giving" because those who will check out these books from the library will derive many hours of pleasure for years to come, and it enhances learning and literacy. The books are chosen by Greg Freeman, Branch Supervisor, Carmichael Library, subsidiary of the Sacramento Public Library
gregfreeman@saclibrary.org

Over the past eight years, nearly 500 books have been donated to the Carmichael Public Library. We show only the latest donated books with the names of the Guest Speakers.
