President Richard Olebe presented our $5,000 check to the Carmichael Park District Board.  This is for this year’s Carmichael Rotary Foundation “District matching grant project”, for which we helped pay for 2 sets of bleachers (see detailed description below) and our members will help install them when the ground dries out a bit.

Bleacher 1 – 3 Row x 24’ Long bleacher at Carmichael Park used by Senior Softball and Carmichael Girls Softball Leagues
Bleacher 2 – 3 Row x 15’ Long bleacher at La Sierra Community Center used by Carmichael Little League T-Ball Leagues

Kudos to the Carmichael Rotary Club!

Voter Registration and Outreach
It was an enjoyable and very informational meeting (January 24th) as we had two representatives from the
Voter Registration and Outreach department of the Sac County Government.
They were Ms. Karalyn Fox (left above) and Ms. Hang Nguuyen (right above) with President Richard Olebe (center above). The voting process was explained in great detail and a lively Q and A followed. For more information click on "Read More" below....

During the incumbency of  President David Thorman,(2013-14) it was decided that instead of giving a particular gift, ie coffee mug, pen etc. to honor our guest speaker each week, we would simply donate a book to the Carmichael Library. So below are many of the books that we have donated in honor of recent speakers.
It is the "gift that keeps of giving" because those who will check out these books from the library will derive many hours of pleasure for years to come, and it enhances learning and literacy. The books are chosen by Greg Freeman, Branch Supervisor, Carmichael Library, subsidiary of the Sacramento Public Library
gregfreeman@saclibrary.org

Over the past eight years, nearly 500 books have been donated to the Carmichael Public Library. We show only the latest donated books with the names of the Guest Speakers.
