Thanks to David and Dana Thorman for going "above and beyond" by providing the venue, hosting, and creating such a welcome and warm feeling.  There could have been more Decorations - but I don't see how (they were amazing).

The food was way beyond any "casual potluck" I've ever attended the smoked Turkey was cooked to perfection Bill Baxter and many guests commented on the quality of the libations as well.  The diverse side dishes were delicious, and the deserts were superb.  Thank you all for making this happen.

Our guests District Governor Jack Arney and his lovely wife, Maureen were welcome additions to our soiree and Jack wore the lighted "joke cowboy hat" with dignity, and the genuine Stetson with style.

Joe Scheimer is always interesting to talk with, and he now has a signed copy of Carmichael - Americana on the Move where he can search for Stan Roe's photo with his family.

Christmas Food Basket Project:

Again, as is a tradition with the Carmichael Club, we sorted Boxes of Food for the needy at Christmas time. Jim Thompson, who has been with the Club almost to its founding said recently that we have been doing the Christmas Baskets continuously for over 60 years.

As in recent years, Richard Plath has overseen the project and made the following report: "We worked with the San Juan District to identify families and distribute food. A total of 62 San Juan families received our food baskets. We also worked with Carmichael Presbyterian Church this year. They received 10 food baskets and a substantial donation of cans and dry goods. We received substantial donations of cans and dry goods from Del Dayo School and Del Campo High School. We had 10-12 Rotarians participating on the days we assembled the delivery boxes and delivered the food. We were able to augment our effort with the help with about the same number of other volunteers."
