On Tuesday, June 19th, two days before the summer solstice, the Rotary Clubs of Carmichael and Sacramento Breakfast gathered in the spacious back yard of the Danz’s for their annual spring picnic.
Some 43 members and spouses enjoyed a wonderful meal of tri-tip, beans, salad, and dessert offered up by super chef Jeff Thompson and culinary workers Tony Marques, Stan Roe, and consummate bartender, Vinne Iosso who dealt out tasty margaritas. Others such as Jay Boatwright, Tim Marquess, and some from Sac Breakfast helped in the putting up and taking down tables, chairs, etc, so that Phil and Katha Danz were able to just enjoy the party. The evening was mild, in the 80s and although there was not the largest number of guests that came, it was satisfying to sit down and enjoy a leisurely dinner with good fellowship. I, for one, enjoyed Margaret Olebe enlightening our table about her experiences and knowledge of Africa. Below are some pictures of the event.
